Are you really successful?
You always get used to the new conditions of your situation, whether it’s a new job position, a new salary...
So if what you’re chasing is self-serving, then you’ll grow tired of what you’ve gained or what you do, and revert back to a default state where you’re constantly dissatisfied with what you have.
And you’ll be stuck in that hamster wheel chasing that next job position, that next raise, that next kick that will give you a temporary satisfaction that can never really fulfill you. Still, you’ll have accumulated accomplishments and external measures of success that you try to find solace in.
But there’s an alternative. A more viable path. One where your success is a byproduct of pursuing a meaningful vision underpinned by the growth of your character.
