Healthy vs. Toxic Workplaces
Hello dear friends,
In toxic cultures, voicing your dissatisfaction is frowned upon.
It’s usually punished with petty tactics such as being denied time off work, seeing a sudden increase in your workload or alternatively, being gradually removed from projects or seeing colleagues being staffed in your place. That’s part of being quiet fired.
A hierarchy that is immune to feedback will be left with people pleasers who mistake blind compliance for discipline, while the best talents inevitably leave the first chance they get.
In healthy environments, speaking up about what you find inefficient doesn’t make you a problem. It means you have a problem that your superiors could listen to and look into. Open lines of communication are encouraged by making people feel safe.
Tending to what makes us vulnerable makes us feel valued and more efficient. Punishing it makes us afraid and obedient, but resentful and mediocre at best.
To recognize those patterns and develop the mental fortitude to navigate such environments, discover the best tools curated from the latest research in psychology, NLP and more in my courses.
